The Aurora clock face
A recording of the Aurora screensaver in motion.

Aurora

Seven-segment digits drawn in cold neon, floating over a slow gradient that drifts the way polar light does. The glass effect adds a faint reflection across the face, so the digits read as if they sit behind a pane rather than on top of the wallpaper.

Aurora is the quietest of the neon faces. If you want the same palette with more movement, look at Pulse.

The engine needs a graphics card that supports the system graphics API: Direct3D 12 on Windows, Metal on macOS, Vulkan on Linux. In practice this means two things:

  • a physical machine with a graphics card is required, a virtual one will not do;
  • on Linux the graphics drivers have to be installed and configured.

Installing Aurora and removing it again is covered on the help page, together with what to do when the screensaver does not start.
