Cartograph

A flat world map with the current time in a handful of capitals, each on its own line beside the city it belongs to. Night falls across the map as a soft band that travels west through the day.

Built for a second monitor: dense enough to be worth a glance, quiet enough to ignore.

Settings

  • Background color color
  • Date on / off
  • Calendar on / off

The engine needs a graphics card that supports the system graphics API: Direct3D 12 on Windows, Metal on macOS, Vulkan on Linux. In practice this means two things:

  • a physical machine with a graphics card is required, a virtual one will not do;
  • on Linux the graphics drivers have to be installed and configured.
